 The Rio Grande Valley is a surprise in the Desert. As the Rio Grande makes it's way south, the Bosque that surrounds the River is home to many different species of wildlife. The long established irrigation system allows farmers to water their fields and is maintained by the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District. Water had been a great concern throughout the history of New Mexico. It is a very important commodity.

The building style that New Mexico is most known for is the Adobe. Made of dirt, water and straw, Adobe is an excellent insulator against the cool high desert nights and the warm summer temperatures.
